Hey everyone! Welcome to Lean Body Bootcamp LA. My names Jack Wilson (or Trainer Jack as they call me on the inter-webs) and I can't express how excited I am about working out with. To give you a little background on myself, I used to be 50 pounds overweight. I was severely bullied in school growing up, going through hard times with my friends and family, and I was miserable with how I felt and looked. I got a lot of comfort from eating the foods that I loved to I kept eating, and eating, and eating. It didn't helped that my parents' family business was in owning and operating cookie companies!
Creeping weight started to take hold and before I knew it, I was 5 foot 3 inches tall, clocking in on the scales at nearly 190 pounds. I was devastated, and I knew that I had to change. The next 2 years were tough. I spent a lot of time figuring out what I needed to eating less of, more of, and none of. I scaled back my portions from 2-3 helpings, to one per meal. I was always embarrassed and terrified to play sports, but I started playing pickup basketball and soccer with my friends. After 24 months of persistence in eating healthy and staying active, I could not believe I hit my goal. I had lost almost 50 pounds and I completely changed the way I thought and felt about myself and others. This journey literally changed my life, and I know that a similar story may be in your future.
I want to make fitness and the road to a healthy, leaner lifestyle fun for you. Fitness is my passion and first love, but if it isn't yours, NO SWEAT! Well, you may sweat a lot in class, but that doesn't mean you need to love fitness to stay active and be able to take care of your body. I've found with my clients that starting and maintaining a healthy lifestyle begins with finding what you like and/or a supportive group to stay active with.
I try to make fitness a game as often as I can. So if you like working out, you'll love this bootcamp. If you don't like working out, you'll love the people and it will go by so quickly because of how each workout is structured. If you are just jumping into fitness for the first time or for the first time in a long time, no worries! I make modifications for most everyone of my exercises, from beginner to advanced. I'm so excited to you to start your journey and help you out along the way. See you in class!
